CAREGIVERS OF NEW JERSEY OPENS NEW OFFICE

BORDENTOWN, NJ – Caregivers of New Jersey (CNJ), an affiliate of The Family Resource Network, held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for their new office on October 24, 2007. The office is located on 4 West Park Street in Bordentown, NJ.

"I was so impressed with how friendly the community was in celebrating our opening," said Eileen Coyne, Director of Support Coordination for CNJ. "Bordentown certainly gave us a very warm welcome."

The open house welcomed about 120 visitors and consisted of a meet and greet with light refreshments. Music by Tom "Slick" Lewis was performed at the event, along with art work displayed by Laurie Homan. The "Good Neighbor" Award was also presented to Holly Mikhailik of Casabella Design for her efforts in securing furniture donations and providing complimentary interior design services. The new office will house Caregivers of New Jersey and the Caregivers Support Coordination Team.

"Caregivers of New Jersey was created to ensure that caregivers are taking care of their loved ones despite the disability or circumstance," said Jessica Goldsmith Barzilay, the Assistant Director of The Family Resource Network. "Caregivers will now be able to access the support they need to allow their loved ones to remain in the community and to live a life filled with dignity, choice and meaning."

The Caregivers of New Jersey office will be open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office provides services that include a lending library of caregiving resources, art for sale by people with disabilities, and assistance with the transition from developmental centers to community living for individuals with disabilities.
